Internships

The Commission is seeking Summer 2023 interns to assist with our mission of recommending reforms that will make the District's criminal laws clearer, more transparent, and more just.  Interns will research current criminal law in the District and other jurisdictions, and assist in formulating reform recommendations. Interns’ findings and recommendations will be provided to the CCRC in the form of legal memoranda. These are ideal, unique positions for anyone interested in criminal law, and the intersection of law and policy.

The District of Columbia Criminal Code Reform Commission is an independent agency tasked with developing recommendations to reform criminal law in the District of Columbia. The CCRC recently submitted recommendations for a comprehensive revision of the District's criminal code, which was voted on and approved by the D.C. Council.

To apply, please email your application to [email protected]. Please attach a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript (if available), and writing sample in a single PDF document.
